Report for Career Oriented Course
Seed money for 6 months career oriented course was received by Saint Francis De Sales College from University Grants Commission in the year 2014 to run the career oriented course namely Hardware and Networking. This course is meant for the college students as well as students from slum area nearby. Some students from other colleges also joined this course. The main objective of this course was to help the students build their career. Since then we are running this course every year. This course was co-ordinated by Dr. Ranjana Ingolikar and run by Computer Science Department and was taught by in house faculties as well as experts from outside.
The syllabus was sanctioned by the R.T.M. Nagpur University and a joint certificate by the university and the college was given to the students after successful completion of the course. The course comprised of 2 theory papers and 2 practicals papers. Paper I comprised of Hardware. In this paper the students were taught how to assemble a computer. How to repair a computer System and how to install softwares. Paper II consists of the networking part. Students were taught how to put the systems in a network. Special emphasis was given on the practical part to make the students practically sound. Mini projects were given to the students and the students were made to submit the report. Course material was provided to the students.
Students are greatly benefited by this course . It gave them knowledge other than syllabus. The students are very much satisfied with this course.
