Government of Maharashtra Open Merit Scholarship

Merit Based · Open to All Eligible Students

Eligibility: Students securing 75% or more in Std. X and seeking admission to Std. XI, or 60% or more in Std. XII and seeking admission to BA/B.Sc. Part I.

Important Notes for Students, Parents & Guardians

ST students should fill the online application through the e-Tribal Maharashtra portal and submit the copy with applicable documents in the office scholarship section.
Scholarship assistance is subject to discipline and maintenance of at least 75% attendance by scholars.
Students should carefully read the scholarship notice board and act accordingly.
EBC, scholarship, freeship, caste-validity and related application forms must be submitted within one month after admission, according to the College information.
Students are responsible for consequences resulting from non-submission of the required forms.
If fees are not reimbursed by the Government, students will have to pay the same.

Declaration of Caste (Freeship)

Students whose caste is included in the Maharashtra Government recognized list of backward classes may receive concessions in tuition fees, other fees and examination fees.

  • OBC/SBC/NT-VJ students meeting the stated conditions may be eligible.
  • SC/ST students with total family income above Rs. 2 lakh may be eligible subject to the stated conditions.
  • Sufficient supporting proof is required.

Economically Backward Classes (EBC)

Students having annual income not exceeding Rs. 1 lakh are described as economically backward for this concession.

  • Application must be made in the prescribed form obtained from the College office.
  • Income certificate signed by the Tahsildar is required.
  • Attested true copies of the Leaving Certificate and last examination marksheet should accompany the application.

Defence Personnel, Ex-Servicemen & Freedom Fighters

  • Students whose father is serving in the Armed Forces or has retired from Defence Service may be eligible on production of the required certificate.
  • Certificate should be attested by the authorized Government/Magistrate officer as applicable.
  • Children of Freedom Fighters require a minimum of 50% marks in the examination passed.
  • Application should carry the signature and stamp of the competent officer of the Sainik Board where required.

Children of Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff

  • Available to eligible children of teachers in recognized schools or Junior Colleges under the stated conditions.
  • Approval letter and institution details are to be enclosed.

  • Applications should be countersigned by the Education Officer where applicable.
  • Teachers should be in full-time pay scales in the establishment.
