The Seminar on Financial Awareness and Consumer Training was organised by the Department of Commerce and Management, St. Francis De Sales College, Seminary Hills, Nagpur, on 12 August 2026 at the AV Hall. The programme aimed to develop financial literacy and responsible financial behaviour among students.
The resource person, Mr. Aditya Bais, Nagpur District Speaker, National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), addressed important aspects of personal finance, including budgeting, saving, investments, insurance, responsible financial decision-making, digital banking, and online financial safety. Students were also educated about various financial frauds, preventive measures, consumer rights, and responsibilities.
The seminar was informative and interactive, with active participation from students. It helped participants understand that financial awareness is an essential life skill and encouraged them to adopt safe financial practices, plan their finances wisely, and make informed decisions.
Outcome and Reflections: The seminar successfully created awareness among the students regarding the importance of financial literacy and responsible financial management. The participants gained a better understanding of personal finance, digital banking, investments, insurance, consumer rights and fraud prevention. The programme helped students realise that financial awareness is an essential life skill. The session also encouraged them to adopt safe financial practices, plan their finances wisely and make informed decisions in their personal and professional lives.
CAREER GUIDANCE SEMINAR “Career Guidance: How to Crack Civil Services and Government Examinations”

The Career Guidance Seminar was organized to create awareness among students about Civil Services and various government examinations such as UPSC, MPSC, SSC, Banking, Railways and Defence.
Mr. Nikesh Golait guided students on eligibility, exam patterns, syllabus, study materials, current affairs, time management and preparation strategies. He emphasized the importance of starting early, maintaining discipline and following a consistent study plan.
The interactive session allowed students to clarify their doubts regarding career choices and competitive examinations. The seminar was informative and motivating, encouraging students to explore government services as a career option.
Outcome: The programme provided students with valuable career guidance and motivated them to prepare for competitive examinations with proper planning, consistency and perseverance.
Financial Need Assessment, Planning & Investment Options

The Department of Commerce and Management, under Commerce Quest, organized a seminar on financial planning and investment options. The session was conducted for the teaching faculty and staff members of the college.
The resource persons were Ms. Kirti Sahu, Assistant Manager, Federal Bank, and Mr. Aditya Deshmukh, Sales Officer, Federal Bank. The seminar focused on assessing financial needs, setting financial goals, budgeting and disciplined saving.
Participants were introduced to various investment options and factors such as risk, returns, liquidity and investment horizon.
The interactive session helped participants understand practical aspects of personal financial management. Overall, the seminar enhanced financial awareness and encouraged informed and responsible financial decision-making.
