The awareness is growing today that a healthy science–religion dialogue is an urgent need of our times and provides a platform for interaction among scientists and other scholars of society by sharing knowledge and experience on various issues related to the relationship between modern science and contemporary religions.
This time, the primary focus will be on the developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their impact on society and religious values.
We consider it a privilege and honour to invite you for this special International Conference on Science–Religion Interfacing, with special emphasis on AI, at S.F.S College, Nagpur.
Conference Venue
The conference will be held at S.F.S College, Seminary Hills, Nagpur 06, Maharashtra.
Nagpur, being at the centre of India, is well connected by air, train and road.
About SFS College
St. Francis De Sales College was established in 1956. Though a religious minority institution, it welcomes people of all castes and creed and is proud of its plural socio-cultural ethos.
S.F.S College is a premier institution of higher learning in Central India and is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
Continuing this rich tradition, an international conference on the above topic is being organized on 9th & 10th October 2026 at S.F.S College, Nagpur.
About CDRESS
CDRESS (Centre for Dialogue between Religion, Education, Science and Society) is a Forum launched on 24th January 2006 to blend harmoniously and creatively the latest findings of modern science and deepest insights of religions to build up a better India in her multi-religious and multi-cultural context.
In collaboration with IISR (Indian Institute of Science and Religion), Delhi, CDRESS conducts conferences, seminars, essay competitions, debates, poster making and other activities for staff and students of SFS College and other educational institutions of Nagpur.

Bridging faith and technology: Human dignity, ethics and AI in the service of humanity
The increasing use of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and opportunities in everyday life.
- Exploring the role of AI in religious rituals and whether robots can perform sacred rites.
- Examining AI and moral decision-making and whether code can have a conscience.
- Analysing whether an AI-driven humanoid can be held morally responsible for its actions.
- Understanding deepfakes and truth in an era when seeing is no longer believing.
- Comparing AI companionship with human connection and whether people will prefer machines.
- Assessing job automation and human dignity and how AI-driven automation will impact the human workforce.
- Investigating artificial empathy and whether machines can truly understand human suffering.
- Evaluating the use of artificial intelligence in sciences and how much decision-making power should be given to AI.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission
A panel of subject experts will review the submitted abstracts. On acceptance of the abstract, the communicating author will be notified to proceed with the PPT submission.
- Length: 500–1000 words
- Document Type: MS Word / PDF format
- Acceptable Similarity: Up to 15%
- Paper Size: A4 size with 1-inch margins on all sides
- Body: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, justified
- Title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, 1.5 line spacing, justified
- Author(s) full name, designation and affiliation must be mentioned below the title.
- Abstracts must include Objectives, Major Findings and Conclusion.
- The abstract must have at least three keywords.

Panel Discussion
A panel discussion on the conference theme is being planned as part of the conference. Students from diverse religious backgrounds are invited to share perspectives from their own traditions, enabling participants to gain deeper insights into the ethical and human dimensions of AI across faiths.
Awards
SFS College – IISR Committee will give awards for the best PPT presentation. Further details will be announced later.
Accommodations
While we are unable to provide accommodation due to logistical constraints, we will gladly assist you with recommendations for nearby hotels and local travel options.
Registration Details
Participants whose abstracts are accepted will be notified and must register individually by completing the online Google Form and uploading the payment details.
For multiple authors, each author must pay the registration fee and submit their forms individually. E-certificates will be issued to all registered participants.
